I have started work on my latest short, tentatively called "Swing", and I hope that by posting this publicly I will force myself to get past the storyboarding and into the good stuff. It's been a crazy 2013 thus far since I've been living half the week in Philly to teach at Penn. Tomorrow I'll be doing another TVPaint tutorial over at SVA for Don Duga's class, and I think, if I have read the email correctly, that Bullets for Breakfast will also be screening at the Melbourne International Animation Festival this summer. Since J and I cannot be on permanent vacation, Annecy is going to be our one big trip this year, but how cool to know my stuff is screening down und-ah again!
Wish "Eus" A Happy New Year!
The New Yorker Eustace Tilley 2013 Contest has five more days to go, and my entry is buried under 17 pages of other people's entries. You can view it here before it gets lost in the contest archives forever! :)
MAKE the season bright!
A great year-end project...my second NYFA holiday card! It was a fun challenge. Even though it was my idea, I'd never really drawn mechanized stuff like this (ask J about how I draw trucks :). Now I'm excited to try some more like it. Enjoy! And Happy Holidays!
Two Penns
Two days a week teaching down at Upenn, four working on Penn State's up and coming TJ's... folks mix up these schools all the time and now I'm finding it a bit hard to keep track myself. So far, I have yet to be in the wrong city at the wrong time...but based on my current inability to tell you what day it is, I won't be surprised when I am. Speaking of time flying by, here's a quick time lapse of what I made today...
"Not Yet" Airs!
While my two latest Sesame Street shorts, "Use It Again" and "Everyone Needs Water" have just headed to post-production, "Not Yet" had its television debut on Monday! "Not Yet" was my first collaboration with the wonderful composer Ryan Shore...whose music also rocks these latest two for Sesame International. I am relieved to finally be done with this crazy summer, and am looking forward to a long-awaited, productive fall!
OMG NYFA!

Still pinching myself...I have been awarded a 2012 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship in Film/Video! This vote of confidence means the world to me. I sat on this panel five years ago and saw an incredible selection of New York artists. I am truly honored to be added to the list of Award recipients.
Craft Outdoors
I was just informed Craft is an official selection for the first ever Movies from the Hill outdoor movie festival in Norristown, PA! If you're near the Philly area and are looking for something to do this Friday night, June 8th, here's the info.
