Thanks to a Nickelodeon pitch contest, our Animation Club has launched AC Shorts! We created our characters and storyboard over the course of a couple of weeks, and submitted it with hours to spare last Friday. A pretty fun premise, if you ask any of us...and if the Nick folks aren't into, perhaps we'll just have to make it anyway!
On another note, my interview with Animation Block Party's fantastic founder Casey Safron can now be seen at Animation Magazine. As is usually the case, I now have things I wish I'd said back when I was being interviewed, but it's short and sweet and I'm not embarassed by it, which is an improvement for me :)
Oh, and here's some even crazier news...I will be teaching Hand Drawn Animation at the University of Pennsylvania next fall! I will be joined by my mentor Paul Fierlinger, who has apparently taken it upon himself to get me teaching positions in every Philadelphia institution. I am honored to be teaching the class that had such an impact on my own career, and look forward to being back at Penn!
